He-Man & Skeletor’s Latest MoneySupermarket Advert Channels Dirty Dancing

Well it was only a matter of time before we had to revisit the MoneySupermarket advertising series of He-Man and Skeletor (better late than never). In the second instalment, the childhood favourites of the eighties are yet again painted in a new comedic light. This time, after saving some more money on MoneySupermarket, He-Man and Skeletor yet again feel, “EPIC!”

They proceed to do their best rendition of the famous scene from another very nostalgic eighties epic, . Yes, with ““. But, who did it better? Let’s see! First up, it’s He-Man and Skeletor. Take it away, guys!

Well, we’d give them a 6 out of 10, for effort and they almost nailed every move, didn’t they? Now we could get very concerned about MoneySupermarket’s very camp advertising output, following on from their last camp campaign (cringed that one), but now with such exquisite dancing here, how could anyone dispute this comedic and quite entertaining advert, overall? Hmmm…

Have the Advertising Standard Authority (ASA) received any complaints over using these childhood heroes in such a very “man-on-man” way? Anyway, we don’t expect any more He-Man feature films any time soon, after these funny adverts, do you?

However, how do He-Man and Skeletor match up against Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey? Could He-Man and Skeletor really eclipse one of the most EPIC dances of all time? Let’s take a look at the original dance, shall we?

Well, what do you think? Who did it better? We’d definitely have to give Swayze and Grey the 10 out of 10 rating, thus heavily beating He-Man and Skeletor’s  homage. But, who cares? They saved money on MoneySupermarket after all, and they clearly had an Epic time together.

So, in the third instalment of He-Man and Skeletor’s adventures with MoneySupermarket, what will happen next? Will they go on holiday together? Or will they become sworn enemies, as they really should be? Only time will tell… But, the possibilities are clearly endless.

Brainstain, over and out!
