Guess what just got released out into the world? Well well, if it isn’t Ocean’s 8, the brand new film that’ll revive the Ocean’s film franchise, and get a place right next to Ocean’s Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen. Don’t worry, we will all be thankfully spared from seeing George Clooney and Brad Pitt in this picture, with the latter always eating something in every scene. So, that’s a plus, don’t you think?
Who could stand another one of those films? We don’t know either… Anyway, without further ado, let’s find out a bit more about this new Ocean’s 8 film, shall we? Watch the trailer below!
Quite the interesting and fine trailer, or? You can tell the brains behind this one aren’t just here to flog a dead horse by reviving another tired Hollywood film franchise or anything, as this is something totally new, right? It’s the female version of the Ocean’s franchise, sort of like the female version of Ghostbusters, which turned out to be such a huge success. Not!
In keeping with this tired Hollywood formula of foregone films and reboots of old franchises with an entirely female cast, they’ve actually managed to drag one poor bastard back from the previous films in the franchise: Matt Damon. That’s mighty nice of you to return, Matt.
Who says that Matt Damon isn’t a truly nice guy? Why else would he just show up like this? Could it be the magnificent script that compels him? Could it be the pay cheque, or is it simply because George Clooney and Brad Pitt just wouldn’t do it? Whatever it is, a huge high five to Matt Damon for taking one for the team. We guess it’s fun to join up with everyone’s favourite American sweetheart Sandra Bullock, who plays Danny Ocean’s (Clooney) sister in the film. Let’s be honest, you just can’t make this stuff up, can you?
Plus, you guessed it! In an unexpected plot twist, the log line reads that Debbie Ocean gathers a crew (of all females) to do a heist during a New York City yearly Met Gala. What? You don’t say? A little bit similar to the other films of old, one would think, but surely there has to be some differences. After all, now you have Sandra Bullock, Olivia Munn, Anne Hathaway, and Dakota Fanning amongst others, instead of the usual male cast. Unbelievable! How bloody original is that!
We can’t wait to be dragged by some deranged feminist to see this film at the theaters, in the name of “Girl Power”, only to fall asleep in the cinema chair and snore right through to the end credits. Just like with Ocean’s Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen. The best part of this new picture is that we will all be spared the smug sight and voice of George Clooney. Hooray!
By the way, did we mention that you’ve now also got top actress Rihanna in the film, so there’s that to really look forward to, as well…. Ocean’s 8 will be released on June 8th, 2018, just in time for what already looks like a tired Box Office season, if this film is anything to go by.
Brainstain, over and out!
