Annoying actor and stand-up comedian, T.J. Miller, has been charged with calling the police to falsely claim that a woman on an Amtrak train had a bomb in her luggage. He was recently arrested at La Guardia Airport in New York on Monday night, over the incident, which took place on the 18th of March this year.
Well, what happened exactly? Last month, aboard the train, T.J. Miller got into a argument with a female passenger whilst belligerently drunk, which prompted him to call 911 to make the claim that she had a bomb on the train.
The train was travelling from Washington D.C. to New York at the time, and clearly caused a major scene. He reportedly told the police over the phone, “I am worried for everyone on that train. Someone has to check that lady out.”
He also said that the passenger “kept checking her bag without taking anything out” and appeared to want to leave the train without it. Following his call, the Amtrak train was stopped at Westport, Connecticut. However, no evidence of explosives were found in the woman’s luggage.

According to witnesses, Miller appeared to be “heavily intoxicated”, and involved “in hostile exchanges with a woman who was sitting in a different row from him in the first-class car”. He was later removed from the train before he reached his intended stop because of his visible alcohol intoxication.
During the call, the officer on the phone reportedly detected Miller’s voice slurring and asked him if he had consumed any alcohol, to which he claimed that he only had one glass of red wine. Sure, Miller, sure…
The actor was arrested on Monday in New York, but was later released on a $100,000 (£70,300) bail after an initial appearance in federal court in New Haven, Connecticut on Tuesday. However, if convicted, he could face up to five years in prison. So, it really begs the question – is a petty argument with a complete stranger really worth wasting police time over, plus scaring other passengers around you, and then risking serious jail time?
That’s all in a days work for T.J. Miller, apparently. In wasting valuable police time, especially with a false bomb claim, it gets taken very seriously, wherever you are and whoever you are. There is no exception! Whilst officials said that the charges were only allegations and not evidence of guilt, it is now currently being investigated by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, the Connecticut State Police, Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department, Amtrak Police Department and the Westport Police Department.
Well done T.J. Miller for raking up another serious incident, following on from his earlier sexual misconduct allegations, as well as fighting with an Uber driver in Los Angeles over politics a few months back. He’s really setting himself up for some possible jail time.
