‘Dark Crimes’ Trailer Trending & Movie Release Date

A new film starring Jim Carrey has surfaced entitled ‘Dark Crimes’. It’s been trending on YouTube for the past forty eight hours, and the film looks very intriguing indeed. The film is a detective crime thriller that is based on David Grann’s article ‘True Crime: A Post Modern Murder Mystery’ published back in 2008about the real life case of convicted murderer Krystian Bala, who published a book three years after an unsolved murder in Poland, sparking investigators to hone in on the author as the main murder suspect, due to the similarity of the crime thriller’s murder of a businessman to the real life murder that only the killer/author could have known about.

The film is about Tadek, a detective played by Jim Carrey. The film is set in Poland, amidst an unsolved murder of a businessman and his suspicions of a recent published book by an author known as Kozlow, which peaks Tadek’s interest in the open and shut case, leading him to discover a secret behind the murder.

The film premiered at the Warsaw Film Festival on October 12th, 2016, but was later picked up by Saban Films for distribution rights in North America. It will now be released on May 18th, 2018, but with DirecTV, you can catch the exclusive release on April 19th, 2018.

Sounds captivating, doesn’t it? Let’s watch the trailer!

We haven’t seen Jim Carrey in a film for a while, and then this independent film emerges, which definitely surpasses much of what Hollywood have been coming up with lately. This is a film that lovers of good filmmaking naturally really wish to see, as opposed to blockbuster comic book movies and all those unbelievable action films coming from Tinseltown in recent years.

Whether you like Jim Carrey or not, you cannot debate his wise choice to star in this film which boasts a 93% ‘want to see’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

We also really want to see this film, and judging by the trailer, it looks like it could turn into one of the better films that’s out at the moment, before the summer blockbuster season arrives. So, let’s enjoy and support this independent film, with Jim Carrey taking on a different, more serious role, and with a Polish accent no less. Hopefully this film can be an alert marker for what people really wish to see in films, which the trending status on YouTube should already have proven.
